Discussions about a loan move have also taken place with Atalanta, Inter, Monaco, and clubs in Germany, Turkey, Spain, and the Saudi Pro League.
Despite his strong presence in club football, with 135 first-team appearances by the age of 20, Greenwood’s international experience is limited.
His England debut in 2020 was overshadowed by a breach of Covid-19 quarantine rules, leading to his expulsion from the national team along with Phil Foden.
Attempts to bring Greenwood back into the England squad, including talks with manager Gareth Southgate, have been complicated by various issues, including his arrest and subsequent legal matters.
