Kevin De Bruyne’s stellar career has left Chelsea regretting their decision to part ways with him in 2014.

Though he made just nine appearances for the club during the 2012-2013 season, De Bruyne has since become one of Manchester City’s most successful players.

Following a productive loan spell at Werder Bremen in 2012—where he tallied 20 goal contributions in 36 games—De Bruyne transferred to Wolfsburg in 2014 for £18 million.

He thrived there, winning the German Cup and Super Cup and earning the title of Bundesliga Player of the Year in 2015.

His £54.5 million move to Manchester City in 2015 proved a masterstroke, as he went on to win six Premier League titles, five Carabao Cups, two FA Cups, and a Champions League trophy.

Former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has highlighted De Bruyne’s leadership and experience as qualities that could still benefit the Blues.

Cole believes that even with concerns over injuries, De Bruyne could be a valuable asset—perhaps featuring in around 30 matches per season.

With a record of 106 goals and 176 assists in 414 appearances, De Bruyne’s impact is undeniable, and Cole sees him as a player who could still make a meaningful contribution at Stamford Bridge.
