Several players have left Manchester City during the current summer transfer window.

Notably, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Liam Delap, and Sergio Gomez have all signed long-term contracts with other teams and departed from the Blues.

In past transfer windows, City has shown a willingness to loan out certain players temporarily to other clubs.

The Blues have loaned out experienced players like Joao Cancelo, as well as younger talents like James McAtee and Josh Wilson-Esbrand, to ensure they get regular playing time abroad.

Recently, some behind-the-scenes information has emerged about another player in Pep Guardiola’s squad who might leave before the window closes.

Man City is expected to loan out Kalvin Phillips this summer, according to a report from The Athletic.

The report stated, “Premier League teams are interested in Kalvin Phillips, but a loan is most likely.”

Currently, Phillips is training in America as part of City’s preseason squad and may play in their upcoming friendlies against Celtic, AC Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea.

Phillips needs to reignite his career. In the 2022 summer transfer window, City paid Leeds United £45 million (via Sky Sports) to acquire him.

During his first season and a half at Etihad Stadium, the Englishman made only a few starts. He was loaned to West Ham United in the previous January transfer window.

West Ham striker Michail Antonio mentioned in April that Phillips was struggling with confidence, having started only three of the eight Premier League games he played for the East London side.

For Phillips, the best move would be to join a team where he can play regularly and get his career back on track if he isn’t expected to feature much at City next season.

City will need to decide whether to loan him out again or find a team willing to pay a reasonable sum to sign him.
