Report: Liverpool eye “incredible” Chelsea talent Cole Palmer in surprise transfer pursuit
Liverpool are reportedly exploring the possibility of a shock move for Chelsea star Cole Palmer, according to journalist Simon Phillips.
The England international has been outstanding since joining the Blues, netting 34 goals in 89 appearances. Despite limited opportunities at Manchester City, Palmer was highly rated there, and Chelsea’s gamble appears to have paid off.
Phillips notes that Manchester City have also recently enquired about Palmer, with Liverpool monitoring the situation as well. However, he adds that Chelsea are unlikely to sanction a sale.
In his latest Substack update, Phillips wrote: “I’m not saying we’ll sell him, but both Manchester City and Liverpool have been sniffing around Cole Palmer for the summer, with City making a recent enquiry.”
Described as “incredible” by Chelsea legend John Terry, Palmer would be a major addition for Liverpool, who may be looking to strengthen their attack amid inconsistencies from players like Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota.
