Man Utd’s stance over Jadon Sancho’s future following the fallout with Erik ten Hag

Following his public dispute with manager Erik ten Hag, Jadon Sancho is expected to speak with Manchester United management, according to 90min.

Ten Hag publicly criticised Sancho after Sunday’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal because he wasn’t included in the team that travelled to the game. Speaking to the media, Ten Hag cited Sancho’s lack of recent training performances that met the standards for selection.

In response to Ten Hag’s remarks on Sunday night, Sancho stated on social media that he has been United’s “scapegoat for a long time” and that “there are other issues on this matter that I won’t go into.” Sancho joined the team in the summer of 2021, and he is now in his second season under the Dutchman’s leadership.

Ten Hag is rumoured to have been upset by Sancho’s article, although discussions are scheduled to cover how the player will be punished for airing his complaints in public.

United have already had inquiries regarding the England international, notably from teams in Turkey, according to information obtained by 90min. Many nations in Europe have closed their transfer windows, but Turkish clubs can still recruit players till September 15.

Given the choices currently available and the fact that the 23-year-old is among the club’s biggest earners with more than £250,000 a week, Sancho’s departure in the near future seems extremely unlikely. United believes a solution can be found and will not help the player leave if doing so would need them to pay for him to play elsewhere.

Sancho’s former team, Borussia Dortmund, continues to be a longtime admirer, and United would have taken proposals for him during the most recent transfer window. Offers in the summer would have been taken into consideration due to Sancho’s inability to land a regular spot in the first team and United’s precarious financial situation, and that is still the case as of right now.

Ten Hag is not happy with how the conflict has developed and is scheduled to speak with Sancho in the hopes that their differences can be settled, if only temporarily.

Over the past several months, Sancho’s dissatisfaction with his place at United has risen as Brazilian winger Antony has increasingly been chosen on the right side of attack despite struggles with form. Meanwhile, Ten Hag made his decision as a result of his displeasure with Sancho’s recent training performances.

After four games, United sits 11th in the Premier League. After the international break, Brighton will come to Old Trafford.
