Liverpool’s pursuit of a new midfielder has received a boost, as recent reports suggest that Real Madrid may consider selling Aurelien Tchouameni next summer.
Even with the solid performances of Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool manager Arne Slot is expected to look for additional midfield depth at season’s end. Tchouameni has become one of the top names linked with a potential move to Anfield for the upcoming season.
The 24-year-old is highly regarded at Real Madrid, with a valuation of £83 million (€100 million). However, despite showing improvement recently, Tchouameni has struggled to fully meet expectations since joining from Monaco two-and-a-half years ago.
According to Fichajes, Madrid might be open to offers for Tchouameni, their number 14, in the summer of 2025. This update will encourage Liverpool, who have long had an interest in the French midfielder.
Having missed out on Martin Zubimendi three months ago, Slot could still revisit the idea of signing the Real Sociedad player in January, but may focus on a more attainable target like Tchouameni.
During his time at Real Madrid, Tchouameni has scored three goals and provided five assists across 103 appearances in all competitions.
