Luis Díaz Considering Barcelona Switch, But With Key Condition Attached

Liverpool forward Luis Díaz continues to be linked with a possible exit this summer, with Spanish giants Barcelona reportedly keen on bringing the Colombian to Camp Nou.

According to *AS*, Díaz dreams of playing for Barcelona and is open to making the move—even if the club cannot register him immediately due to ongoing financial constraints. However, there’s a catch.

Demand for Compensation

The report claims Díaz has set a firm condition: if he signs with Barcelona and the club fails to register him by August 31, he expects significant financial compensation.

Without registration, the 27-year-old would be unable to play until January, and he wants assurances that he won’t lose out financially during that period.

Despite the risk, Díaz is reportedly willing to wait—if the money is right. Barcelona have already begun working with his representatives on a draft contract, though no agreement has been finalized.

Liverpool’s Dilemma

Díaz was a crucial part of Liverpool’s attack last season, particularly with the Reds relying heavily on him and Mohamed Salah for goals and creativity.

While Liverpool have bolstered their attack by signing Florian Wirtz, depth remains an issue—especially after the tragic passing of Diogo Jota.

Initially, Díaz was valued at around €70 million, but given recent events, Liverpool may be reluctant to part with him. Offloading a key attacker without a solid replacement could prove risky, particularly with the club still in need of a consistent, reliable striker.

As the summer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will entertain offers or hold firm and keep Díaz as part of Arne Slot’s plans.
