Liverpool’s efforts to strengthen their defense have encountered a setback as one of their targets, Willian Pacho from Frankfurt, is reportedly on the verge of signing with PSG.
According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the Ecuadorian defender is currently undergoing a medical with the Parisian club and is expected to commit to a contract that will keep him there until 2029.
Liverpool had shown interest in Pacho, as noted by The Independent’s Miguel Delaney last week. However, with PSG closing in on the deal, the Reds may need to explore other options.
Additionally, Newcastle United is reportedly advancing in their pursuit of Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, another player Liverpool had considered earlier this year.

As the transfer window remains open, Liverpool still has time to target alternative defenders, with potential names like Goncalo Inacio from Sporting Lisbon, Piero Hincapié from Bayer Leverkusen, and Arthur Theate from Stade Rennais rumored to be on their list.
