Micky van de Ven (Tottenham)
With Marc Guehi now off the market after completing a move to Manchester City, a number of centre-backs are expected to be linked with Liverpool ahead of the summer window, when the club is likely to strengthen in that area.
The Daily Mail reports that Tottenham and Netherlands defender Micky van de Ven is among the names being considered, with Liverpool potentially testing Spurs’ determination to retain the 24-year-old once the season concludes.
Van de Ven had previously been on Liverpool’s radar before joining Tottenham. Despite being tied down to a contract running until 2029, the Dutch defender has reportedly declined opportunities to enter discussions over a new deal.
Predominantly operating on the left side of Tottenham’s defence due to his left-footedness, Van de Ven favours the same position as Virgil van Dijk, who will have just one year remaining on his contract by the time the summer window opens.
