A former Premier League striker has claimed to have insider knowledge about the future of a long-serving Liverpool star.

Mo Salah’s contract has been a constant topic of discussion, with only nine months left and no signs of an extension on the horizon.

Speaking on talkSPORT Breakfast, Gabriel Agbonlahor was confident that the 32-year-old will move to Saudi Arabia next year, where he would become the highest-paid player in their top league.

The ex-Aston Villa striker said, “I know Salah’s leaving. A source told me he’s definitely going to Saudi on a record-breaking deal.

I’ve heard he’ll make more than Ronaldo and become the face of football there. If you’re Salah, you can’t refuse that. He’s achieved everything at Liverpool, hasn’t he?”

Despite Agbonlahor’s certainty, there’s no need to take his comments too seriously, especially after Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, recently dismissed such claims, stating that ‘sources close to’ Salah don’t exist and that any such ‘insider information’ is ‘completely unfounded.’

Agbonlahor isn’t the only former Premier League player predicting Salah’s departure. Former Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha has suggested the forward’s body language points to a potential move in the summer of 2025.

While it’s true that Saudi Pro League clubs could offer substantial wages to Salah, and it wouldn’t be shocking for a player to seek new challenges after nearly a decade at one club, Salah’s excellent form this season shows he still has plenty to give at the top level in Europe. At 32, he’s far from retirement.

Perhaps these pundits are simply tired of seeing Salah torment their favorite teams and wish for his exit. But based on his recent performances, the Egyptian King seems far from finished!
