Liverpool squad injury update, suspensions and player availability

Liverpool have released the latest update on injuries, suspensions and player availability in the men’s first-team squad, with the information last updated on February 5.

    Stefan Bajcetic

Bajcetic is yet to feature this season due to ongoing injury problems. Arne Slot explained in late January that the midfielder has suffered repeated minor setbacks just as he gets close to returning to training.

While the club hopes to have him back soon, Slot stressed the need to manage expectations after such a long spell without first-team action.

    Conor Bradley

Bradley has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after picking up a serious knee injury against Arsenal on January 8.

He has since undergone surgery and is now focused on his rehabilitation, describing the injury as a major blow but remaining optimistic about his comeback.

    Jayden Danns

Danns is currently sidelined and not training as he continues to recover from a fitness issue. Slot confirmed that the young forward would have been involved had he been fit, but there is no immediate return date.

    Jeremie Frimpong

Frimpong was forced off early during Liverpool’s Champions League match against Qarabag with a muscle injury. Slot confirmed on February 5 that the Dutchman will not train this week and will miss the weekend clash with Manchester City.

    Joe Gomez

Gomez was substituted in the first half against Bournemouth and missed the next two games. There is some hope he could be involved against Manchester City, although Slot said he is unlikely to start and may only be available from the bench if needed, with defensive options currently limited.

    Alexander Isak

Isak is facing a lengthy recovery after surgery on an ankle injury that included a fractured fibula, sustained while scoring against Tottenham in December.

Slot confirmed the striker is still in the early stages of recovery and not yet back on the pitch, though there is confidence he will return at some point during the 2025/26 season.

    Giovanni Leoni

Leoni is recovering from an ACL tear suffered during his debut against Southampton in the Carabao Cup in September.

The young defender is expected to miss the rest of the season. Slot admitted it has been a difficult setback but highlighted Leoni’s age as a reason for optimism once he completes his recovery.
