Pitaluga hopes his loan to Richmond Park will replicate Jaros’ success when the Czech goalie amassed 39 appearances and 13 clean sheets for the Dublin team three years ago.
His loan timing is ideal as the League of Ireland operates on a calendar year, allowing him to join Saints in preseason for their mid-February league campaign. A potential extended stay through the summer could offer European competition, thanks to their FAI Cup win securing a place in the 2024 UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds.
Eager to make up for his lack of senior-level appearances, the 21-year-old aims for ample playing time with the Irish side, hoping for a smoother loan experience than some of his counterparts like Rhys Williams and Fabio Carvalho this season.
