Liverpool’s young players are being offloaded rapidly under new head coach Arne Slot.
The Dutchman has been streamlining the squad, with Harvey Blair recently joining Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg, and Bobby Clark in securing permanent moves away from Anfield.
Blair’s transfer to Portsmouth this summer was confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) by @LFC.
The forward had participated in Slot’s initial pre-season tour with the club in the U.S.

The club cannot afford to lose any of these key players next summer without having a long-term succession plan in place. Ideally, this planning would occur in the current window, although it remains unclear if Liverpool has identified suitable targets (if they believe one or more of the trio might leave).
Additionally, there may be a need to strengthen the squad for the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign. While Liverpool’s squad is strong, it could benefit from a slight refresh.
