Reports from South America suggest Liverpool is eyeing a young talent from across the Atlantic.
La Tercera states that the Reds are preparing a bid of $8m-$10m (£6.3m-£7.9m) for FC Midtjylland winger Dario Osorio, with an additional future percentage for the 20-year-old.
The Danish club’s deputy sporting director, Ove Pedersen, acknowledged interest in Osorio but declined to comment further on any potential bids.
Osorio, who joined Midtjylland from Chile last year, has impressed in his first season in Denmark, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in 24 appearances.
Capable of playing on either wing, he has already earned eight senior caps for Chile and is included in the provisional squad for the upcoming Copa America.
If Liverpool signs Osorio this summer, he is likely to be a squad option at best, with a potential loan move to a major European league to continue his development.
While Liverpool has been linked with many players ahead of the transfer window, Osorio’s acquisition might not be a priority for FSG given the current forward options.
However, he represents an intriguing and affordable prospect who has adapted well to European football.
