Liverpool Football Club has reportedly secured the signing of teenage prospect Alvin Ayman, who will join their Academy this summer.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move on X (formerly Twitter) after the Reds successfully navigated the Premier League’s 5-step approval process.
What’s next for Liverpool?
This comes after reports in late June suggested that the Merseyside club was close to signing the 16-year-old, whom journalist David Lynch called a “big talent.”
Lynch told Anfield Index, “I think Liverpool are keen to avoid any issues, but it sounds like they’re confident this one will get done. There’s excitement around this lad, and they see him as a big talent.”
While much attention has been given to Liverpool’s efforts to offload several promising youngsters, it’s important to note that the club’s recruitment team has been actively bringing in top young talent.
Ayman joins Rio Ngumoha, formerly of Chelsea’s academy, who also had to undergo Premier League approval for his move.
In addition, Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to become Liverpool’s first senior summer signing, though he is likely to return on loan to Valencia for at least one season—a situation that suits the club, given Alisson Becker’s continued excellence as their first-choice goalkeeper.
