Liverpool Eyeing Move for Alexander Isak
Liverpool are reportedly targeting Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak as a potential signing in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Swedish international is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top strikers, having enjoyed a stellar season with Newcastle.
His contributions were instrumental in securing Champions League qualification and winning the English League Cup. Isak ended the season with 27 goals in all competitions.
According to Fichajes, Liverpool’s new manager Arne Slot is keen to bring the 25-year-old to Anfield. With Darwin Núñez struggling to find consistent form and netting just seven goals last season, Liverpool are believed to be prioritizing an elite striker — and Isak fits the bill.
Michael Owen has previously described Isak as a “top-class” player who would improve any team he joins. Liverpool are reportedly willing to offer €120 million (£100m) to lure the forward away from St. James’ Park.
Will Newcastle Let Him Go?
Newcastle, however, are reluctant to part ways with their star forward and are working to extend his current deal.
But Liverpool’s interest is intensifying, and their status as Premier League champions could make the offer hard to resist for the player.
Joining Liverpool would offer Isak a chance to compete for major trophies, including league titles and Champions League honors — a tempting step forward in his career after proving himself at Newcastle.
Still, with a record-breaking deal for Florian Wirtz already close to completion, it remains to be seen if Liverpool can financially accommodate two major signings in the same window.
