Recent reports out of Spain have raised rumors about Liverpool’s apparent desire to sign highly regarded Real Madrid winger Rodrygo to fill Mohamed Salah’s spot. Last month, Salah’s £150 million offer from Al Ittihad, a Saudi club, was turned down. There were even rumors that an incredible £215 million offer for the Egyptian international was on the table.
Spanish reports claim that Liverpool is “keen” on obtaining Rodrygo as a possible Salah replacement. In 2019, the Brazilian winger joined Real Madrid and has since developed into one of their most important players. He has made 170 appearances in all competitions and has helped the squad with 38 goals and 32 assists. Rodrygo also has a tendency for scoring in pivotal games, as evidenced by his two goals in the Copa del Rey championship game and his goals in the quarterfinal and semifinal of the Champions League against formidable opponents.
The adaptable winger, who can also play as a center-forward, might be the kind of player Liverpool needs to regularly contend for championships. But such a step won’t be inexpensive. According to reports, Real Madrid would need to receive a price greater than €100 million (about £86.5 million) to part ways with one of their elite players, such as Rodrygo.
Liverpool might have to make a large financial investment to finalize this deal. Salah’s sale for £215 million would provide them the money they needed to seek Rodrygo as a replacement.
