Liverpool is reportedly closing in on signing Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano disclosed that while personal terms have been agreed with Mamardashvili, negotiations between Liverpool and Valencia are still ongoing, with no final agreement yet.
The transfer fee for the 22-year-old goalkeeper is expected to be around €30 million.
Mamardashvili, who is under contract with Valencia until 2027, had an impressive season last year, playing in 32 matches, securing 12 clean sheets, and conceding 34 goals.
His market value, according to Transfermarkt, is a significant €45 million.
During Euro 2024, Mamardashvili further demonstrated his abilities by making 30 saves, nearly matching the record of 32 saves set by former Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev at Euro 2008.
His growing reputation is reflected in his status as one of the most highly valued goalkeepers on Transfermarkt.
