Manchester United is thrilled to announce the signing of Leny Yoro, pending registration. The French defender has agreed to a contract that runs until June 2029, with an option for an additional year.

At just 18, Yoro has already made 60 first-team appearances for Lille OSC. Last season, he earned a spot in the Ligue 1 team of the season, contributing to his club’s fourth-place finish.

Leny Yoro expressed his excitement: “Joining a club of Manchester United’s stature and ambition so early in my career is a tremendous honor.

From my initial conversations with the club, they outlined a clear development plan for me in Manchester as part of this exciting project, showing great care for me and my family.

I am aware of Manchester United’s history of nurturing young players and believe it’s the perfect environment to reach my potential and achieve my goals with my new teammates. I can’t wait to get started.”

Dan Ashworth, Manchester United’s sporting director, added: “Leny is one of the most promising young defenders in world football, with all the qualities needed to become a top-tier center-back.

Given his impressive start to his career, we are eager to support him in reaching his significant potential at Manchester United.

This club has a proud tradition of developing young talent, whether homegrown or acquired, and providing them with the necessary guidance, time, and patience to grow and succeed.

Under Erik ten Hag and our excellent staff, we will ensure that Leny has the ideal platform to achieve the success that the entire club is striving for.”
