Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to return to the sidelines, managing Borussia Dortmund in a special one-off match on Saturday.
The 57-year-old, who left Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season, has been enjoying his time off, attending Euro 2024, the Olympics in Paris, and vacationing in Mallorca.
After nine successful years at Liverpool, where he led the club to numerous trophies and solidified his place as one of their greatest-ever managers, Klopp has taken time to reflect on his future.
His departure from Liverpool was emotional, but he left behind a strong squad for new manager Arne Slot, which has shown its strength in the current campaign.
Klopp’s return to Dortmund is also an emotional one, as he will be managing in a testimonial match for former players Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski at Signal Iduna Park.
The event will feature several key players from Klopp’s Dortmund era, including Nuri Sahin, Neven Subotic, Sebastian Kehl, and Marcel Schmelzer.
