The goalkeeper showed discomfort toward the end of last weekend’s match against Manchester City, and the forward had to leave the game due to an injury.

Klopp praised the City match, labeling it as ‘super exciting’.

The Reds’ manager informed the media on Wednesday at noon that both players wouldn’t be participating in the upcoming match against the Austrian team at Anfield.

Regarding Alisson’s hamstring problem, Klopp mentioned [as reported by Liverpool Echo]: “We’ll need to wait as Ali is a bit less. He won’t be playing next week, not tomorrow nor Sunday. After that, he should be fine.

However, Klopp had a less optimistic update on Jota, stating, “Diogo will require more time. It’s a bit more serious, and we’re uncertain. We need to monitor it closely.

The news regarding Alisson isn’t as dire as initially anticipated, and Liverpool’s key player might be available for Manchester United’s visit to Anfield on December 17.

He’ll miss the upcoming match tomorrow night and the Premier League games against Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, and Fulham the following week.

Even if he’s fit for the game against Union Saint-Gilloise in two weeks, he won’t participate since it’s expected to be an inconsequential Europa League group match, considering Liverpool’s advancement in the competition.

Unfortunately, it seems Jota won’t be back until after the New Year. With this situation, Liverpool’s other four senior forwards are likely to see significant rotation over the next month.

Managing the squad effectively will be crucial in the coming months, especially with nine games remaining before Boxing Day.
