Jack Grealish sent an incredible warning to Pep Guardiola after Pep Said Jeremy Doku is better than him

Pep Guardiola’s “incredible” revelation inspired Jack Grealish to send a warning to Manchester City.

The most expensive player in Manchester City history, Jack Grealish, has been warned about his position in the club as Pep Guardiola seeks to add to the treble he won last year.

Jack Grealish has been warned that he must work “harder” to maintain his position at Manchester City following the appointment of Jeremy Doku.

The England star was crucial to Pep Guardiola’s team’s treble-winning campaign last year. With the Citizens, he played in 50 games while contributing 11 assists and five goals.

However, this summer raised concerns about his employment at the Etihad. Doku, a wide receiver from Belgium who was purchased by City for £55 million from Rennes, has made an impressive debut for his new team. In the weekend’s 3-1 comeback victory over West Ham at the London Stadium, Doku scored his first goal for City. He also starred in City’s Champions League encounter against Crvena Zvezda.

Bacary Sagna, a former Manchester City defender, believes Grealish will have to put in a lot of effort to restore his starting position. “There will be really good competition on the left flank for Manchester City, this is what Pep [Guardiola] is looking for,” he said to Paddy Power.

We must, of course, admire [Jack] Grealish as a player and the part he played in City’s treble-winning season; he was and is a terrific player. You should always strive to push a player beyond of his comfort zone.

Being comfortable is never a good thing for a player; you must keep working hard. Grealish will work harder and be more decisive when given the chance to play because [Jeremy] Doku is already having a major impact on the team.

I’ve been friends with Doku for a long time because I support Stade Rennais and value the player he is. He is one of the best players I’ve ever seen in one-on-one situations, and I appreciate his straightforward approach, quickness, and strength. He and Allan Saint-Maximin have characteristics in common in that they are difficult to mark and play against since they are creative, strong, unpredictable, and always seem to shift direction.

“He will have a significant impact on the left flank; he is a proper winger, which is a winger we don’t see very often these days; he is direct and only wants to attack.” Having that kind of competition is great for Grealish and Doku, but only one will play, so I’m sure they’ll contribute even more, which is incredibly beneficial. This is great for Manchester City.

Guardiola has already complimented his summer acquisition aside from Sagna’s remarks. He said the Belgian was “incredible” and that he was “very pleased” with his start at the Etihad following the victory over West Ham.
