Liverpool’s right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly facing a few weeks out due to a hamstring injury.
Fortunately for Reds fans, he may have avoided a more severe injury by leaving the Aston Villa game early. According to Paul Joyce on X (formerly Twitter), Alexander-Arnold hasn’t been ruled out for upcoming key matches against Southampton, Real Madrid, and Manchester City.
Hamstring injuries can take time to heal, so it remains to be seen if Liverpool will consider him fully fit for those games or if he may need additional recovery time.
Can Liverpool manage without Trent Alexander-Arnold?
Liverpool has had a stellar season start under new manager Arne Slot, sitting five points clear at the top of the Premier League and performing strongly in the Champions League. The team has also been relatively fortunate with injuries, though goalkeeper Alisson has been somewhat missed.
In contrast, Manchester City has been without Rodri, likely for the remainder of the season, while Arsenal has had to play without Martin Odegaard for a significant time, alongside injuries to Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Riccardo Calafiori.
At 26, Alexander-Arnold is one of the top players globally in his position, and Liverpool has few alternatives who can match his skill with the ball.
