Liverpool have been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe in recent years.
According to *L’Equipe*, the 25-year-old French international had a verbal agreement to join Liverpool in 2022.
The report claims that Liverpool made a €200 million bid to Paris Saint-Germain after reaching personal terms with Mbappe.
However, then-PSG sporting director Antero Henrique demanded double the offer to complete the transfer.
Despite agreeing on terms with Liverpool, Mbappe secured a future move to Real Madrid as part of the discussions. Ultimately, he signed a long-term deal with Real Madrid after his PSG contract expired.
Mbappe could have transformed Liverpool
The 2018 World Cup winner is undoubtedly one of the world’s best players and would have been an exceptional addition to Liverpool.
He’s a versatile forward capable of playing across the front three, bringing goals, creativity, and match-winning abilities to the team. His presence could have been a game-changer in big matches for the Reds.
Liverpool achieved success under Jurgen Klopp, winning the UEFA Champions League and Premier League, and Mbappe’s arrival would have strengthened the team further.
It’s intriguing to imagine how many more major trophies the Reds might have won with Mbappe in their squad.
Now, the 25-year-old is set to make his mark at Real Madrid, and it will be interesting to see if he can lead the club to multiple league titles and Champions League victories during his time there.
