“I’ll sign for Manchester United if Amorim guarantees me this one thing”: Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak reveals he’s open to a move to Old Trafford—but only under one condition.

Manchester United’s need for a clinical striker has become increasingly evident, given Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s modest goal returns this season.

Højlund has managed just eight goals, while Zirkzee has six, with the former only recently ending a lengthy Premier League goal drought and the latter more suited to an attacking midfield role.

As a result, manager Ruben Amorim has made signing a striker a top priority for the upcoming transfer window. Initially, he had hoped to reunite with Viktor Gyökeres, but the Swedish forward is determined to play Champions League football—something United might not be able to offer next season.

This has led the club to shift its focus to Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray and making a significant impact in the Turkish league.

Osimhen Emerges as United’s Top Target

The 26-year-old Nigerian forward has been in outstanding form, scoring 26 goals and providing five assists.

Napoli is expected to sell him at the end of the season, and while Galatasaray would love to keep him, they may struggle to meet both Napoli’s asking price and Osimhen’s high wages.

United also face financial challenges in meeting the Serie A club’s demands, which is why swap deal rumors have started circulating.

Garnacho as a Potential Trade Piece?

Initially, reports suggested that United might offer Højlund as part of the deal, but The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell has hinted at another possibility—Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentine winger was a target for Napoli in January, but the Italian club balked at United’s €70 million valuation.

However, with Antonio Conte still seeking a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Garnacho could be included in a player-plus-cash offer to land Osimhen.

While Garnacho recently ended his goal drought against Leicester, his finishing and attitude have come under scrutiny.

Amorim previously fought to keep him at the club during the winter window, but with the summer approaching, United’s stance could shift.

A Transfer Saga to Watch

With Osimhen attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Liverpool, United will need to act decisively.

Whether through a direct transfer or a swap deal, securing a proven goal scorer like Osimhen could be crucial in reshaping their attack.

As the transfer window nears, this developing saga is one to keep a close eye on.
