Juventus are likely to miss out on top target Riccardo Calafiori this summer, as Fabrizio Romano reports that the Liverpool-linked centre-back is now open to a Premier League switch, with Arsenal nearing a deal.
Although it’s not finalized yet, Arsenal have made their interest in the 22-year-old clear. Meanwhile, Liverpool remain serious about Leny Yoro, viewing the Frenchman as a top target, according to Ben Jacobs.
Liverpool’s approach could cost them Calafiori
It’s possible that Liverpool’s recruitment team doesn’t rate Riccardo Calafiori as highly as Juventus, Chelsea, and Arsenal do.
However, if Liverpool does have any interest in the Italian international, it seems negligent to let him join a league rival unchallenged, especially while they try to secure Real Madrid’s target, Leny Yoro.
Yoro, despite being a generational talent, appears set on a move to Real Madrid, and Los Blancos are negotiating with Lille over the asking price.
While Liverpool’s patience might pay off, it’s a significant risk with potential severe consequences.
It would be frustrating to see Calafiori end up in London and Yoro move to Madrid.
