“I would like to see him at Old Trafford, but the fans don’t want him. It’s not my decision; it’s up to the staff,” said Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, providing an update on Mason Greenwood’s future at the club.

Borussia Dortmund’s sports director refused to comment on the club’s potential interest in signing Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.

Greenwood spent the last season on loan at Getafe, as United felt it was best for him to continue his career away from Old Trafford.

He found his form in Spain, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists in 36 appearances. With his loan now over, the 22-year-old will rest while United decides on his next move.

During the Champions League final media day, Dortmund’s sports director Sebastian Kehl was asked about Greenwood but indicated that all transfer discussions were on hold.

“I don’t want to talk about rumours right now since they make no sense. Let’s play the final on Saturday,” Kehl said.

“We have ideas for the next season and discuss various situations, but nothing for today. Let’s focus on the match on Saturday, and then we’ll see how things go.”

When asked specifically if Greenwood is on Dortmund’s radar, Kehl replied, “I don’t want to talk about it right now.”
