Juventus are reportedly targeting Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee as a potential addition to strengthen their attack during the upcoming January transfer window.

With the Italian club struggling to score goals, they are eager to bolster their offensive options in order to improve their performance in both Serie A and the Champions League.Juventus’ Offensive Struggles

Juventus, currently in sixth place in Serie A and in 19th in the Champions League, have encountered significant difficulties in attack this season.

Despite relying on star striker Dusan Vlahovic, their lack of depth in the forward line has become increasingly apparent. In their last five matches, they’ve scored just five goals, underscoring the need for reinforcements up front.

Reports from *La Gazzetta dello Sport* suggest that Zirkzee, who currently plays for Manchester United, is one of Juventus’ main targets.

The 23-year-old Dutch forward, who joined United in the summer under manager Erik ten Hag, has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford.

Zirkzee’s Challenges at Manchester United

Zirkzee was brought in to provide support for Rasmus Hojlund in United’s attack, but he has had difficulty securing regular starting minutes.

Under the current management of Ruben Amorim, his opportunities have been limited, with Hojlund continuing to lead the attack after strong performances, including a brace in a recent Europa League match against Bodo/Glimt.

This lack of impact at United contrasts sharply with Zirkzee’s successful time at Bologna in Serie A, where he scored 11 goals and provided five assists in 34 appearances, earning the league’s Young Player of the Year award.

Juventus believe a move back to Italy, potentially under former Bologna manager Thiago Motta, could help Zirkzee rediscover his best form.

Juventus’ Search for Depth

Juventus’ need for attacking depth has been further exacerbated by Arek Milik’s injury, leaving Vlahovic as the club’s only reliable striker.

Therefore, adding Zirkzee has become a priority for the club, as his versatility and previous success in Serie A could provide the much-needed depth and competition to improve their season.

Other United Players in Demand

Zirkzee isn’t the only Manchester United player attracting interest. Marcus Rashford has reportedly caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, who are closely monitoring his situation at Old Trafford.

The Decision for United

For Juventus, signing Zirkzee would be a chance to address their attacking issues and strengthen their position in both Serie A and Europe.

However, whether Manchester United will allow the Dutch forward to leave midseason remains uncertain.

As the January transfer window nears, all eyes will be on both Old Trafford and Turin to see if this move materializes.
