Manchester United pulled off a dramatic comeback to defeat Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, marking a successful debut Manchester Derby for new manager Ruben Amorim.
City opened the scoring in the first half when Josko Gvardiol headed home, but United turned the game around after the break.
Bruno Fernandes leveled the match from the penalty spot following Matheus Nunes’ foul on Amad Diallo.
Just four minutes later, Diallo netted a sensational winner, controlling a long ball and finishing brilliantly from a tight angle.
Amorim’s tactical approach proved decisive, as he deployed a 3-4-2-1 system. Andre Onana started in goal, with Lisandro Martinez, Matthijs de Ligt, and Harry Maguire forming a back three.

Pep Guardiola’s City lineup featured Ederson in goal, with Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, and Josko Gvardiol in defense.
Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva controlled the midfield, while Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes provided width. Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden supported lone forward Erling Haaland.
The match began with City dominating possession in the first half, but United’s defense remained resolute.
In the second half, United grew into the game, with Diallo’s header testing Ederson and Fernandes missing a clear chance.
The turning point arrived when Nunes brought down Diallo in the box, allowing Fernandes to equalize from the spot.
