Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ star Rayan Ait-Nouri as a potential solution for their left wing-back position, according to *The Independent*.
The Red Devils have endured a disappointing Premier League campaign, sitting 13th with just 26 points from 21 games.
Despite this, there have been signs of progress under manager Ruben Amorim, including their recent FA Cup victory over Arsenal.
The left wing-back role has been a persistent issue, and Amorim is said to be seeking a long-term fix.
While Paris Saint-Germain’s Nuno Mendes was initially a top target, the defender has chosen to remain in Paris, committing to a new long-term deal under Luis Enrique.
Amid this, Ait-Nouri has emerged as a key option. The Algerian international has been a standout for Wolves this season, contributing four goals and five assists in 22 appearances while excelling defensively, averaging 5.6 duels won, 2.4 tackles, and 4.7 recoveries per game.
Wolves value the 23-year-old at around £30 million, but his price could rise to £50 million, especially with the club battling relegation.
A January deal appears unlikely unless United’s new owners, INEOS, provide the necessary funds, or a high-profile player exits Old Trafford.
Ait-Nouri’s move to United might have to wait until the summer transfer window.
