Liverpool manager Arne Slot has revealed that goalkeeper Alisson Becker may be out for “a few weeks” due to a hamstring injury, while also providing an update on Alexis Mac Allister’s fitness.

Alisson made crucial saves in Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Crystal Palace, but had to leave the game in the 79th minute, with Viteslav Jaros coming on to replace him as backup goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was unavailable due to illness.

This is Alisson’s second injury this season, after missing two games in September with a thigh issue.

In addition to Alisson’s injury, Alexis Mac Allister was substituted at halftime and replaced by Dominik Szoboszlai, raising concerns about his condition.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Slot addressed the situation with both players.

Regarding Alisson, he said: “We’re not sure yet, but usually when a player walks off like he did, he won’t be in the Brazil squad and I don’t expect him for our first game after the international break.

It’s likely to be a few weeks, and I believe it’s a hamstring issue.”

On Mac Allister’s injury, Slot noted that while the midfielder could have continued playing, he felt discomfort and chose to come off as a precaution.

The extent of the injury remains unclear, and Slot added, “It’s in his groin area, but we don’t know yet if he’ll be able to go to Argentina or play there.”

Liverpool’s next match is at home against Chelsea after the international break.
