He may have left Anfield a year too soon, according to a former Liverpool player who made the suggestion recently.

Daniel Sturridge’s stint with the Reds came to an end in 2019 when he was a member of the squad that celebrated winning the Champions League in Madrid. Two months later, he was released by the team and joined Trabzonspor in Turkey.

The 34-year-old now regrets missing the opportunity to win the Premier League championship the following season as a result.

Sturridge named the 2019–20 Anfield club on NOW TV when asked, along with other Sky Sports analysts, which illustrious English premier league team he would have loved to play for.

The striker responded, “Of course, winning the Premier League with my teammates when I left Liverpool the following season.” It would have been beneficial to participate in that and go through it with them given the length of time I spent with the males.

During his six years on Merseyside, the attacker scored 68 goals in 160 games (according to Transfermarkt) and combined lethal with Raheem Sterling and Luis Suarez to help the team win the 2013–14 Premier League.

Sturridge, who twice played for Liverpool teams that fell just short of beating Manchester City to win the Premier League and left the year before we did, can consider himself unfortunate not to have remembered his time at Anfield with a Premier League medal.

However, it is because of men like him and their exceptional efforts from earlier in their careers that Klopp’s champions will be able to fulfill their destiny in 2020.
