Andre, a midfielder for Fluminense, has formally disclosed that, during the summer transfer window, he had an offer from a “major European club,” which he later revealed to be Liverpool. The Brazilian international, 22, was reportedly valued at around £25.6 million, but Fluminense declined Liverpool’s offer and decided to keep the midfield player for the remainder of the season.
The fact that Fluminense is running a year-round campaign had an impact on their choice to keep Andre. In order to help them in their pursuit of the Copa Libertadores, the club sought to keep Andre on board. This has taken them to the final match, which is set for November 4 against Boca Juniors.
Andre acknowledged the offer in an interview with the official CONMEBOL channel, saying he had chosen to remain at Fluminense for the time being. His choice demonstrates his dedication to the team’s current campaign and his part in their effort to win the Copa Libertadores.

Andre is steadfastly refusing to go this summer despite Liverpool’s desire. He acknowledged that he was happy with his decision and reiterated his belief that “a lot of things can happen” in the forthcoming winter transfer window. “In the round of sixteen, our squad might have lost. I had to make the choice,” he went on.
“At this point, everyone will agree that I made the proper choice.
It did not matter if we stayed [in it] or not; I am completely at ease with our decision to stay. I believe that it was a loyalty gesture to continue and strive to win the Libertadores.
“We have to work extremely hard to win this title right now, and I’m not sure what will happen at the end of the year.
“Many things can happen, but I’m confident that being here and knowing everything went well greatly benefited both my job and me personally.
“I believe that, as Diniz said, good things always happen when we do the right things, be loyal and honest,” I said after receiving all of the national team call-ups for the year.
