Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Ryan Gravenberch’s ankle ligament injury and expressed frustration with the refereeing decisions during Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final win against Chelsea. Virgil van Dijk’s late goal secured a 1-0 victory for Liverpool in extra time.

However, Gravenberch was forced off the pitch on a stretcher in the first half following a challenge by Moises Caicedo, which Klopp criticized for its recklessness.

Despite the incident, Caicedo faced no punishment and was seen celebrating with his teammates using crutches and a protective boot after the match.

Klopp acknowledged Gravenberch’s injury, stating that while nothing is broken, there is ligament damage.

He lamented the refereeing performance, expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of fouls called and the officials’ failure to take action on the challenge.

With a growing list of injured players, Klopp expressed concerns about fielding a team for Liverpool’s upcoming FA Cup match against Southampton.

Gravenberch’s injury adds to the team’s woes, leaving Klopp uncertain about player availability for the upcoming fixture.

Despite the challenges, Klopp emphasized the need for resilience and determination in the face of adversity, recognizing the demanding nature of the football calendar but remaining optimistic about Liverpool’s ability to overcome obstacles.
