With Erik ten Hag’s tenure at Manchester United potentially nearing its end, fans have shared mixed opinions on his possible replacement, with Thomas Tuchel emerging as the top choice.

The 54-year-old manager faces a crucial period after Sunday’s draw against Aston Villa extended United’s winless run to five games, leaving them in 14th place in the Premier League.

Co-owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer visited Old Trafford on Monday for talks with CEO Omar Berrada and Ineos’ head of sport, Sir Dave Brailsford.

Ten Hag’s future was a key topic during follow-up meetings in London on Tuesday with senior executives.

Despite the uncertainty, Ten Hag remains focused on improving the team. After the Villa Park match, he stated that he hadn’t been informed of any immediate pressure from the club.

“I have no idea what’s different, as they would have told me. We communicate openly and transparently,” he said, adding that the team knows they need to improve, particularly in scoring.

Several candidates have been suggested as potential successors, with Thomas Tuchel, the former Chelsea manager, leading the list.

Ruud van Nistelrooy, currently Ten Hag’s assistant, could serve as an interim coach, and Gareth Southgate has also been mentioned.

In a survey by *Manchester Evening News*, Tuchel received the most votes (29%), with Zinedine Zidane coming in second (16%).

Van Nistelrooy ranked third (12%), followed by Massimiliano Allegri and Simone Inzaghi, who each garnered 6%. Michael Carrick, Kieran McKenna, Graham Potter, and Southgate received fewer votes, with Southgate earning just 3%.
