Erling Haaland’s agent has emphatically stated that the striker is “1,000%” committed to Manchester City, despite ongoing rumors of a move to Real Madrid.
Haaland, who joined Manchester City in 2022, has made a significant impact in his two seasons with the club.
He has helped City win the Premier League title twice and played a crucial role in their Champions League victory, contributing to a historic treble in his debut season.
At just 23 years old, Haaland has already played for five different clubs in his senior career.
Rafaela Pimenta, Haaland’s agent since the passing of Mino Raiola in 2022, is known for including release clauses in player contracts.
She has emphasized that the details of Haaland’s release clause are known only to his camp and Manchester City, suggesting that while a future transfer isn’t off the table, it isn’t being considered in the immediate future.
In an interview with Flashscore, Pimenta discussed Haaland’s current situation and future prospects.
“I don’t know if he will settle into being a one-club man,” she said, “but I think the Erling Haaland project is one that will last over the next few years.”
She highlighted that Haaland feels very much at home at Manchester City, stating, “He is 1,000% committed to the City project and is already looking forward to the new season with the club.”
Pimenta also commented on Haaland’s value, suggesting he is worth more than €1 billion (£850 million) considering his age, potential for improvement, and economic impact.
She clarified, “When I said that this amount corresponded to ‘his value’, I wasn’t talking about his ‘transfer value’.
I was referring to the value of a top player at that age, with enormous room for improvement. And when I said that, he hadn’t even done the treble – a player who finished as top scorer in the Premier League despite being injured for two months…”
Pimenta further elaborated on Haaland’s marketability and off-field value, noting his strong work ethic, focus, and lack of off-field controversies.
“He’s been at Manchester City for two years now and there’s never been any gossip about him. His profile represents a huge value in the eyes of sponsors and clubs, as well as in terms of shirt sales and media exposure.
And all that, put together: ticket sales, TV rights, everything Erling will earn over the course of his career, I’m convinced it will exceed a billion.”
Haaland’s current contract with Manchester City runs until 2027. When recently asked about the possibility of extending his contract, Haaland was non-committal but positive.
“I’ve had two fantastic years and have three years left. That’s really all I can say,” he told Norway’s TV2 earlier this month.
This statement reinforces the sentiment that, for now, Haaland is focused on continuing his successful journey with Manchester City and is not considering any immediate plans for departure.
