Erik ten Hag, manager of Manchester United, has responded to claims that first-team players are giving information to the media.
The Red Devils have had a dismal start to the 2023/24 season despite coming off a promising 2022/23 campaign.
Bayern Munich overcame Ten Hag’s team 4-3 on Wednesday night in their opening encounter of the Champions League group round.
The United team is reportedly starting to question Ten Hag’s tactical choices, and there are claims that he offers some of his top players special treatment, according to stories in the English press.
Ten Hag was questioned about the rumors during a press conference on Friday before the team’s journey to Burnley, although he acknowledged he was unsure for sure if there was a leak coming from the dressing room.
Although I’m unsure if it’s a leak, I am aware of what people are saying and who my players are. He said, “Anyone can offer suggestions; we don’t mind.”
It doesn’t matter because at United you have to win every game. There is no such thing as an easy game, especially against Burnley; it all depends on how we play against them.
United’s recent on-field success follows a slew of high-profile mishaps off the field. The team has received criticism for how they handled Mason Greenwood’s comeback, while Jadon Sancho is currently practising away from the first team owing to a disciplinary issue and Antony is also on leave after being accused of abusing three women.
The question of whether Ten Hag has been shocked by the issues he has so far encountered at United was posed.
