A Man United player was criticized by Erik Ten Hag for being egocentric today and promised to be benched for the future match, stating, “Today he killed us.” NOT RASHFORD

In the game, Brighton defeated Manchester United 3-1.

Hannibal Mejbri’s goal for the United was barely a solace. For Brighton, goals were scored by Joao Pedro, Pascal Groß, and Danny Welbeck.

The Red Devils barely controlled 43% of the ball as compared to Brighton’s 57%.

Out of a possible 14, United had four successful attempts on goal. Brighton, in contrast, attempted 10 attempts in all, of which 8 were effective in preventing Andre Onana from scoring.

Erik ten Hag’s team completed 487 passes with an 85% success rate.

The Seagulls executed 659 passes successfully with a 91% completion rate.

In a game where the most of United’s players didn’t show up or perform well, Scott McTominay was one of the underdogs who stood out the most.

The midfielder was given the ball right away after a productive international break with Scotland. He now holds the all-time scoring lead in the ongoing Euro qualifiers with six goals.

Scotsman spent 85 minutes on the field without a goal or an assist. It’s concerning for a midfielder that McTominay only had 22 touches of the ball.

From midfield, just 15 of his 17 passes were completed, for an 88% success rate.

The 26-year-old made no vital passes or crosses while on the field. The Carrington academy alumnus tried to kick a long ball, and he was successful in doing so.

McTominay was unable to convert any of his attempts. He successfully completed two dribbles on his behalf.

Three ground matches were contested by the player, and he won two of them. He’s not required to finish an aerial challenge. He only threw one interception and fumbled the ball three times.

McTominay failed to make a single tackle or clearance.
