Dominik Szoboszlai has admitted that Liverpool FC may need to lower their ambitions if they continue delivering performances like the one that resulted in their frustrating draw with Tottenham Hotspur FC.
The Hungarian midfielder did not hide his frustration after the match, particularly after watching his team give away a late advantage that looked certain to secure all three points.
Szoboszlai had given Liverpool an ideal start when he scored early in the game, putting the hosts ahead and setting the stage for what initially looked like a confident display.

He stressed that the team must recognise the seriousness of the situation and make clear improvements if they want to compete at the highest level.
The midfielder also revealed how disappointed he felt at full time. He suggested that if Liverpool continue to lose points in such situations, they may have to accept far lower expectations than usual.
In fact, he hinted that even qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League could be seen as a positive outcome if their current form does not improve — a remark that shows how concerned he is about the team’s recent struggles.
Szoboszlai also reflected on the contrast between the two halves. He felt Liverpool performed strongly before halftime, dominating possession and limiting Tottenham’s chances.
