A Liverpool player has suffered another devastating injury blow just weeks after making his comeback from a long-term setback.

Calum Scanlon, who joined Millwall on loan five months ago, managed just one appearance in September before a stress fracture in his back sidelined him, forcing him to return to Merseyside for treatment.

Scanlon Suffers Another Setback

After finally resuming action for Millwall in mid-January, the 19-year-old was beginning to find his rhythm again.

However, misfortune struck once more as he was forced off just 17 minutes into Millwall’s 1-0 win over Luton last weekend due to a hamstring injury.

Millwall manager Alex Neil confirmed (via *Southwark News*) that Scanlon has suffered a grade three hamstring tear, which could rule him out for up to 12 weeks and potentially end his season.

A Run of Terrible Luck

Having already endured a four-month layoff, this latest injury is a cruel blow for Scanlon, who has struggled to get a consistent run of games.

Unfortunately, he’s not the only Liverpool youngster to be plagued by injuries, with Kaide Gordon and Stefan Bajcetic also experiencing significant setbacks in their development.

Jurgen Klopp had previously spoken highly of the teenage left-back, calling him “fun to watch” during pre-season 18 months ago.

His loan move to Millwall was meant to provide valuable senior experience, but injuries have severely disrupted his progress.

With Neil’s estimated recovery timeline, Scanlon may only feature again this season if Millwall makes a deep run in the Championship play-offs.

We wish him a full and swift recovery and hope that once he overcomes this latest obstacle, he’ll enjoy better luck in his career moving forward.

Despite heavy speculation, Liverpool have opted not to move forward with a potential £85 million deal for Alexander Isak. Instead, the club has shifted its transfer focus and funds toward other priority targets who are considered more suited to Arne Slot’s tactical plans.

“I’m ready to sign for Liverpool immediately if he’s no longer in the squad. Once that condition is met, I’d be happy to make the move to Anfield” – those are the words of top defensive target Marc Guehi, who has made it clear he’s open to joining Liverpool, but only on one condition: the departure of a key current Reds player.
