Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old, regarded as one of La Liga’s top strikers, would be a major addition for any Premier League side.

According to El Chiringuito, discussions with interested clubs are set to begin next week, and Atletico may consider a sale if a significant offer is made this summer.

Arsenal in search of a proven goal-scorer

Arsenal are in urgent need of a dependable striker to lead their attack next season. Their lack of cutting edge in front of goal has cost them in the title race.

Alvarez could be the solution, bringing not just goals but also creativity, defensive work rate, and versatility across the front line—making him a valuable asset for Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Liverpool also in the race

Liverpool are equally eager to bolster their attack, especially with Darwin Nunez underperforming. Bringing in Alvarez—who has already shown his quality during his time with Manchester City—would be a significant move for the Reds. The Argentine’s familiarity with English football and his winning mentality make him an attractive target.

Alvarez has had an outstanding season, scoring 29 goals and providing six assists. However, he won’t come cheap, and it remains to be seen whether either club can convince Atletico to sell.

His experience, having won major titles like the Premier League, Champions League, World Cup, and Copa America, could be invaluable for whichever team secures his signature.
