Manchester United are reportedly close to sealing a deal for Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo, according to The Guardian.

Revamping their attack has been a top priority for the Red Devils after struggling with goals last season. In order to support Ruben Amorim’s preferred 3-4-2-1 system, United are even open to offloading natural wingers like Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho.

Having already secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves, United have been in talks for weeks to land Mbeumo.

Personal terms were agreed earlier, and the club initially offered up to £55 million including add-ons, but Brentford turned it down—holding out for a figure at least equal to Cunha’s £62.5m fee.

Now, *The Guardian* reports that United and Brentford have agreed on an initial fee, and discussions are ongoing over add-ons that could bring the total to £65m. Mbeumo is expected to earn around £150,000 per week, matching Cunha’s salary package.

Once the Mbeumo signing is finalized, United are expected to shift focus toward securing a new striker, with Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku among the options being considered.

Mbeumo’s ability to operate both on the right wing and as a secondary striker makes him a natural fit for the right-sided attacking midfield role in Amorim’s setup.

The Cameroonian enjoyed an impressive Premier League season, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in 38 games. Cunha also contributed significantly with 21 goal involvements last term, making both players major attacking upgrades.

With Amorim aiming to have all key signings in place before pre-season, United are moving quickly. In addition to a striker, they are also targeting a new central midfielder and goalkeeper ahead of the new campaign.
