David Beckham recommends a preferred candidate for Manchester United to take over from the Glazers.

David Beckham recommends his preferred successor for Manchester United to replace the Glazers, the current owners of the club, who are considering bids for the team.

The Glazer family, proprietors of Man Utd, are presently reviewing offers for the purchase of the team. Two contenders, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, remain in contention.

Manchester United icon David Beckham has weighed in on this matter, suggesting that he knows the right candidates to replace the Glazer family as the club’s proprietors.

Last year, the Glazers declared their openness to exploring “strategic alternatives,” including a partial or complete sale of the team, in place of their current ownership.

INEOS founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani submitted bids earlier this year to acquire United from the Glazers. However, there has been no response from the Glazer family regarding the acceptance of these offers.

Recent reports suggested Ratcliffe was contemplating acquiring a minority stake in United. Ahead of United’s recent victory over Brentford, fans protested against the Glazers, demanding a complete sale.

During the Formula 1 Qatari Grand Prix, David Beckham was asked about the takeover process by Sky Sports. He emphasized the need for consistency for one of the biggest clubs in the world and mentioned his favorites for managing and reviving the club.

“We aspire to return to the top, and I believe I know who can assist in achieving that,” Beckham stated in response to inquiries about Sheikh Jassim’s bid.

Expressing empathy for United’s manager Erik ten Hag amidst the team’s challenging start to the 2023–24 season, Beckham acknowledged the off-field disturbances, hoping for decisions benefiting everyone involved with the club – fans, players, and management.
