David Beckham, a former player for Manchester United, has said he “knows the right people” to unseat the Glazer family as club owners.

Last year, the Glazers made it known that they would be open to exploring “strategic alternatives” to their current ownership, including a partial or complete takeover of the team.

Earlier this year, INEOS founder Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatari financier Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani submitted final offers to purchase United from the Glazers, but neither side has received word from the American family regarding whether their offers will be approved.

Last week, 90min claimed that Ratcliffe was considering buying a small interest in United as an alternative. Before Saturday’s 2-1 victory against Brentford, United supporters once more demonstrated against the Glazers and demanded a complete sale.

While watching this weekend’s Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix, Beckham was questioned by Sky Sports about his opinions on the takeover process.

“We are one of the largest clubs in the world, if not the biggest. We seek consistency. That, in my opinion, is the most crucial factor, he added.

Beckham, who served as an ambassador for the contentious Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, responded to a question about Sheikh Jassim’s bid by saying, “We all have our favorites of who we feel needs to manage the club and look after the club to take it back to where it belongs.

“In our opinion and the opinion of our fans, we are the best. We want to be back at the top, and I think I know who can make that happen.

Following United’s terrible start to the 2023–24 season—six losses in their first 11 games—Beckham also voiced sympathy for manager Erik ten Hag, stating that the commotion from off the field must be a hindrance.

We’ll see. He is a capable coach. Although it is a challenging situation right now, the club is now very noisy. He can’t have it easy. Beckham went on.

“Everyone wants that noise to stop. All of us want a choice to be made for the team, the supporters, the players, and the management.
