Darwin Nunez, who is leaving Liverpool’s match against Luton, misses a sitter. “You can’t defend him… that’s UNBELIEVABLE.” Minutes before Tahith Chong gave Hatters a shocking lead, Jamie Carragher astonished.

Darwin Nunez seems a little embarrassed after failing to convert a clear opportunity during Sunday night’s match between Liverpool and Luton Town.

Trent Alexander-Arnold crossed the ball into Mohammed Salah at the back post in the 69th minute of play, causing the incident.

Salah returned the favor to Nunez, who was positioned on the other post. Since Thomas Kaminski was already beat, all he needed to do was guide the ball into the net.

But Nunez blasted into row Z, above the bar. His teammates dropped their heads in their hands, shocked by what they had seen.

Fortunately for Nunez, Salah was judged to be offside, and the offside flag was raised right away. Still, supporters continued to bemoan the 24-year-old’s miscalculation.

Commentator Jamie Carragher of Sky said: ‘He might be a touch relieved the flag went up. I continue to believe that people will remember it. Salah might have been onside after all, in my opinion.

Fans, meanwhile, voiced their opinions on X. “I swear Nunez has an open goal miss every single game,” a social media user stated.

One more person said, “I’ve never thought of Nunez as a good striker.” He is sloppy and uncoordinated in front of goal, lacking precision and being overly eager to fire the ball.

One admirer, however, commented, saying, “I genuinely love Darwin Nunez, but that miss was inexcusable; he needs to learn how to not whack everything; that was just a simple tap in.” Needs to be much more deft in front of the net.

Darwin will score difficult goals and miss easy ones, another person said. My striker is beyond my comprehension. One person stated, “Oh my goodness, we have to sell Darwin.” Honestly, miss, what was that?

The Reds lost 1-0 as a result of their wasted opportunity, as Tahith Chong scored for Luton Town a few moments later.

Fortunately for the Reds, Liverpool secured a point in the 90+5 minute mark of the match when Luis Diaz found the back of the net.
