Liverpool Begin Squad Reinforcements Ahead of New Season Under Arne Slot

Liverpool are actively planning to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season, with new head coach Arne Slot already laying the groundwork for a competitive campaign.

Following an impressive Premier League title-winning season, made even more remarkable by Slot’s minimal spending since his arrival, the club is now turning its focus to the Champions League.

With ambitions to replicate their domestic success in Europe, Liverpool have identified several key transfer targets.

One major move appears to be nearing completion, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong expected to join as a potential successor to Trent Alexander-Arnold. The club is also pursuing reinforcements on the opposite flank.

According to Sky Sports’ Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool have opened talks with Bournemouth regarding the signing of Hungarian left-back Milos Kerkez.

The Reds are stepping up efforts to secure the 20-year-old, who has long been on their radar as a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.

Kerkez has had a breakout season under Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola, earning praise for his balance of attacking threat and defensive reliability—making him an ideal fit for Slot’s system.

In addition to strengthening the backline, Liverpool are also considering a change up front. Brighton striker João Pedro is reportedly a target and could be brought in as a possible replacement for Darwin Núñez.

With strategic moves already in motion, Liverpool look set for an active summer as they prepare to build on this season’s success and aim for European glory next year.
