Manchester United’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, has affirmed his dedication to the club amid speculations connecting him to a transfer to Saudi Arabia. Recent reports from Spain have identified Fernandes as a primary target for the Saudi Pro League, hinting at bids of €100m (£87.5m) possibly being imminent.

Although Fernandes hasn’t outright dismissed the idea of a transfer, he emphasized that he is not giving any thought to the ongoing rumors. He emphasized his focus on excelling with both United and Portugal, stating that while being sought after is positive, his concentration remains on his current teams.

“My focus is on the national team and Manchester United, I’m content where I am,” he mentioned during a press conference. Despite acknowledging the good moment with the national team and a challenging start at United, Fernandes avoids contemplating the long-term scenario.

He expressed indifference toward market speculation, preferring not to pay heed until he receives concrete information. Fernandes highlighted that rumors can easily spread in the media, and he prefers to remain concentrated on his goals.

Having a contract at Old Trafford until 2026, Fernandes’ commitment provides no immediate urgency for United to consider offers for their captain.

Another United player reportedly on the radar for Saudi interest is winger Jadon Sancho, who could potentially leave the club in January due to ongoing issues with manager Erik ten Hag. Although Saudi clubs eyed Sancho during the summer, recent understandings suggest January offers are likely. However, the 23-year-old appears uninterested in a move to the Middle East at this stage of his career.

Sancho’s representatives have made it clear that they won’t be swayed by the highest bidder, as the player aims for a move to another top European league. While a return to Borussia Dortmund is Sancho’s preference, financial complexities complicate the deal, and other suitors like Juventus may also struggle to afford such a move.
