Manchester United’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, has reasserted his dedication to the club despite swirling rumors connecting him to a switch to Saudi Arabia. Recent reports from Spain have indicated that Fernandes is a prime target for the Saudi Pro League, with alleged bids of €100m (£87.5m) anticipated to be presented to United soon. Although Fernandes didn’t completely rule out the possibility of a transfer, he emphasized his focus on excelling with both United and Portugal, confirming his satisfaction with his current position.

Expressing his stance during a press conference, Fernandes acknowledged the flattering interest but stressed his concentration on his national team and Manchester United. “Being sought after is always positive, irrespective of the league or club,” he stated. “But my priority lies with the national team and Manchester United. I’m content where I am. While things may not have started as expected at United, I’m not thinking too far ahead.”

Regarding the ongoing transfer rumors, Fernandes indicated that he pays little attention to such speculation until concrete offers emerge. His approach involves staying committed to his objectives and ignoring market hearsay. At 29 years old, Fernandes is contracted with Old Trafford until 2026, signaling that United is in no immediate rush to consider offers for their captain.

Additionally, another player on the radar of Saudi Arabian clubs is United’s winger Jadon Sancho. Despite being a target for Saudi clubs in the past and potential January offers looming, Sancho is not inclined towards a move to the Middle East at this phase of his career. Representatives for Sancho have clarified that they won’t engage with the highest bidder in January, as the player is eyeing a move to another top European league.

Sancho’s preference leans toward a return to his former club Borussia Dortmund, although the financial aspects of the deal complicate matters. Other suitors like Juventus may also encounter difficulties in managing the intricacies of such a transfer deal.
