Man United Legend Slams FIFA and FA Over Patrick Dorgu’s Suspension

A Manchester United legend has launched a scathing attack on FIFA and the FA, accusing them of double standards following the three-match suspension of Patrick Dorgu. The former player believes the punishment is excessively harsh and highlights a biased disciplinary system.

“A Tough Tackle, Yes—But a Three-Match Ban?!”

The controversy erupted after United’s 3-2 win over Ipswich Town, where Dorgu was initially unpunished for a challenge on Omari Hutchinson—until VAR intervened. Referee Darren England, who hadn’t called a foul, later deemed it serious foul play, resulting in a straight red card.

Speaking out, the club legend expressed his frustration:

“We’ve seen worse go unpunished! This proves how biased the FA can be. Football needs fairness, not agenda-driven decisions!”

A Pattern of Inconsistent Punishments?

The ex-player highlighted numerous cases where similar or worse fouls received little to no punishment.

“One player gets a three-match ban, while another gets off with just a warning. Where’s the consistency?” he asked.

This lack of uniformity in officiating has long been a major concern among players, managers, and fans.

How This Hurts Manchester United

Dorgu’s suspension couldn’t have come at a worse time for Rúben Amorim’s side. The young Danish defender—signed from Lecce in January—will now miss crucial fixtures against Fulham (FA Cup), Arsenal, and Leicester City.

While Amorim acknowledged the tackle was strong, he emphasized that Dorgu had no malicious intent.

With United’s defensive options already stretched, the decision raises serious questions about the fairness of football’s disciplinary system.
