After Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa, manager Ruben Amorim made an emotional announcement confirming the departure of four key players, signaling a major shift at Old Trafford despite the victory.

“I really want them to stay, but the board made the decision—I had no say,” Amorim admitted, clearly frustrated. “These players gave everything for the club, and it’s painful to see them go.”

The departing players include Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelöf, all of whom will leave upon the expiration of their contracts this summer.

Eriksen marked his farewell with a penalty goal against Villa, providing a poignant moment for fans.

Uncertainty also surrounds Alejandro Garnacho, who was absent from the matchday squad, further fueling speculation about his future at the club.

Amorim, who took over in November, has endured a turbulent debut season—finishing 15th in the Premier League and suffering a Europa League final loss to Tottenham.

Nevertheless, he remains committed to rebuilding the squad, with a focus on younger, more energetic players.

These exits are part of a broader overhaul being driven by Manchester United’s new leadership under co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Amorim has reportedly lined up several fresh targets to align the squad with his high-intensity playing style.

While some fans expressed sadness at seeing long-serving players leave, others acknowledged the need for change.

All eyes are now on Amorim as he embarks on a crucial summer rebuild aimed at restoring United to its former glory.
